Jones Magnet Middle School sponsors candy drive to promote their upcoming show

Jones Magnet Middle School (JMMS) is sponsoring Candy for a Cause to promote their upcoming performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The initiative is to collect bagged candy that will be donated to the community partners who support Hampton City Schools (HCS) students outside of the school. Partner organizations include child care centers, YMCA, churches, and community centers, as well as Title 1 elementary schools who have alumni at JMMS.

Candy may be dropped off to the collection box in the main office at Jones (1819 Nickerson Blvd.) 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the school day through Friday, February 21.

The performances of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are scheduled for April 25 at 6:00 p.m. and April 26 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase on the Jones website beginning in April.

Update:

Jones Magnet Middle School is thrilled to share the sweet success of their Candy for a Cause fundraiser. Thanks to the incredible support from the JMMS families and HCS community, they collected over 50 pounds of candy.

This candy was thoughtfully distributed to 20 local organizations, including churches, schools, community centers, daycares, cheer teams, dance and karate studios, and more. What made it even more special is that many of the Jones students and families personally delivered the candy to the organizations they are part of.
