Bethel High School students compete, place in math competition


On Saturday, February 8, 2025, a talented group of Bethel High School students showcased their mathematical skills at a competition held at Christopher Newport University (CNU), joining over 200 students from schools across the region. Representing Bethel High School were Manny Parker, Julian Johnson, Tristan Pearson, Korrey Stephens, Taylan Ward, Cameron Love, Nevaeh Singleton, Jennifer Vuong, Dhruhi Patel, Anthony Vu, Alicia Cooper, Hayden Whitlock, Demetrius Vassilakopoulos, and Scarlett Coronado.


The competition consisted of both individual and team rounds. Dhruhi Patel earned the title of Highest Scorer at Bethel High School and received an Honorable Mention in the Overall Individual Round. In the team round, Jennifer Vuong, Dhruhi Patel, Anthony Vu, and Alicia Cooper excelled, securing a tie for 3rd place overall.


“I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, dedication, and impressive performance at the CNU math competition,” shared Bethel executive principal Dr. Tanya Howard. “Their success is a testament to their perseverance and passion for learning.
