Lyndsay McCabe earns doctorate
Congratulations to Dr. Lyndsay McCabe, a special education teacher at Jones Magnet Middle School, for earning a doctorate. She successfully defended her dissertation, LGBTQ+ Adolescents with Disabilities’ Experiences of School Connectedness and Identity Navigation through the University of Northern Colorado.
McCabe taught for five years in New York and is currently in her ninth year of teaching at Jones. She received the Graduate Dean’s Citation of Excellence and the Graduate Dean’s Citation for Outstanding Dissertation. She also won second place in the University of Northern Colorado 3 Minute Thesis competition.
“Dr. McCabe exemplifies excellence in special education through both practice and scholarship. With 14 years of experience, including nine at Jones, and nationally recognized doctoral research, she brings exceptional expertise and commitment to student belonging and success,” said Dr. Heidi Brezinski, principal of Jones Magnet Middle School. “We are proud to have her as part of the Jones team, where she is committed to make lasting impacts on our community.”
