Bethel High School hosts annual 757 High School Recruiting Fair

Coach Davis Porter, head varsity football coach at Bethel High School, recently hosted his annual 757 High School Recruiting Fair, an event designed to expand recruiting opportunities for student-athletes across Hampton Roads while streamlining the process for college coaches.

Drawing on his experience as a former college football coach recruiting in the 757, Porter recognized the challenge of visiting more than 70 high schools in a limited time. Now, as a high school head coach, he also understands the importance of providing student-athletes with multiple opportunities to be evaluated. The recruiting fair addresses both needs by offering a “one-stop shop,” allowing college coaches to connect with athletes from 25–30 schools in a single visit.

The event saw strong participation, with every high school football program in Hampton represented, along with schools from surrounding areas and as far away as Nash County, NC. More than 20 colleges from Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Maryland attended. In its second year, the fair continued to grow, welcoming more high schools and an increased number of college coaches. Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the event’s value for both student-athletes and recruiters.
