LEAD Peninsula visits Hampton High School and the Academies of Hampton

Hampton City Schools recently welcomed LEAD Peninsula to Hampton High School for a pivotal Education and Workforce Program Day. LEAD Peninsula is a community and civic immersion initiative that provides an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the key components that drive the region’s efficiency, economic prosperity, and overall success. The program also fosters greater communication and collaboration across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

With over 50 community leaders in attendance, this visit was more than a tour. It served as a platform to forge lasting partnerships that are poised to enhance student achievement and drive community growth. The overarching goal of the event was to raise awareness about the transformative power of educational redesign as a key economic driver. By highlighting how strategic investments in education can strengthen local industries, the program aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workforce development.

During the event, two local organizations committed to offering internships for Hampton students on the spot. Other participants pledged to serve as advisory board members and host sites, providing authentic teaching and learning opportunities for both educators and students.

Through these collaborations, Hampton City Schools is unlocking the potential for transformative partnerships that equip students with the skills they need to thrive in their careers and beyond.
