Kecoughtan's Stacie Tyson Named AdviseVA Site Supervisor of the Year

Hampton City Schools proudly congratulates Stacie Tyson, school counselor and AdviseVA site supervisor at Kecoughtan High School, on being named one of two 2026 AdviseVA Site Supervisors of the Year during the AdviseVA Summit held in Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

The award recognizes outstanding site supervisors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, mentorship, and support for AdviseVA advisers as they help students prepare for college and career success.

 

Kecoughtan High School became a new AdviseVA site during the 2025–2026 school year, and Tyson quickly established herself as a dedicated mentor and collaborative partner. In her nomination, AdviseVA adviser Meredith Foster praised Tyson's support and commitment to her professional growth.

 

“Although Kecoughtan High School is a new AdviseVA site, Mrs. Tyson has fully embraced her role as both a supervisor and partner,” Foster wrote. “From day one, she has been deeply committed to my professional growth, providing the structure and encouragement I needed to thrive in this role. Her guidance has not only strengthened my advising abilities but has also expanded my perspective and empathy as an educator.”

 

Tyson's recognition reflects her dedication to supporting both students and colleagues while fostering a collaborative environment that promotes student success.

 

“Mrs. Tyson exemplifies what it means to put students first. Her dedication to the growth, well-being, and success of every student inspires our entire school community,” said Llew Radford, Kecoughtan academy principal. “I am incredibly proud to call her a colleague and grateful for the impact she makes each and every day.”

 

AdviseVA is a statewide initiative that places recent college graduates in Virginia high schools to help students navigate the college admissions and financial aid processes while increasing access to postsecondary opportunities.
