HCS celebrates 15th Annual Rejuvenate Conference
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, Hampton City Schools celebrated the 15th anniversary of its summer learning conference, Rejuvenate 2025, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The event welcomed approximately 300 participants for a day of learning, reflection, and connection.
This year’s conference featured 28 concurrent sessions led by HCS educators and focused on equipping staff with tools and strategies to enhance social-emotional skills for both students and adults. A highlight of the day was a student-led session, co-presented by representatives from all four HCS high schools, where students shared powerful insights into their daily experiences around belonging, mattering, and building meaningful connections.
Participants also had the opportunity to explore vendor tables and enjoy entertainment from Encore Music and Entertainment. Door prizes, sponsored by the Hampton Education Foundation, added a fun and festive touch to the day.
“Rejuvenate is more than just a professional learning event—it’s a celebration of the hard work we do every day,” said Heather Peterson, director of climate and culture for Hampton City Schools. “This year’s focus on connection, belonging, and well-being reflects our ongoing commitment to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for every student and staff member.”
