Hampton High School Class of 2026 — your future starts now!

Hampton High School’s school counseling department, under the leadership of Kerry Ambrosino, proudly hosted Senior Launch Week: Ready. Set. Succeed!, a three-day summer event designed to give rising seniors a head start on their journey toward college, careers, and life after high school. From August 6–12, the library/media center was transformed into a hub of energy, resources, and support — with students and parents actively engaged in workshops, hands-on activities, and one-on-one guidance from school counselors, college and career coaches, and community partners.

August 6 – “Polish & Present: Your Story Starts Here”

• Resume Ready: Students received guidance on accessing Xello to create standout resumes.
  
  
• Personal Statement Power Hour(s): Staff supported students as they crafted compelling personal statements.

August 7 – “Apply Yourself: Your Future is Calling”

• Test-Ready: Students received step-by-step guidance for SAT/ACT registration along with guidelines for accessing fee waivers.
  
  
• College Apps Bootcamp: Students accessed and completed college applications with confidence.

August 12 – “Pathways & Possibilities: Opportunity Fair 2025”

• Resource Fair Extravaganza: Students explored careers, service, military, college, and community opportunities with representatives from Virginia Army National Guard; Christopher Newport University; Virginia Peninsula Community College; Centura College Newport News; Hampton University Educational Talent Search; Virginia Wesleyan University; and VersAbility Resources.
  
  
• Scholarship Safari & More: Students received an in-depth workshop on scholarship opportunities and application strategies. Tips were also shared on building a portfolio, finding and tracking scholarships, and responding to organizations.

Thanks to the incredible students, engaged parents, and dedicated partners, Launch Week empowered seniors to start the school year confident, prepared, and ready to succeed.
