HCS teachers participate in Chrysler Museum of Art and Hampton University Museum educator workshop

The Chrysler Museum of Art and the Hampton University Museum offered an educator workshop exploring Intangible Cultural Heritage utilizing the artworks of three modern Nigerian artists. This workshop focused on one of the artists, Akinola Lasekan.

Megan Berg of Bryan Elementary School, Ashley Velazquez of Burbank Elementary School, Michelle Colby of Jones Magnet Middle School, Ashley Waite of Kilgore Gifted Center, Meghan Thayer of Bethel High School, and Erica Allen of Bridgeport Academy participated.

“This was an incredible opportunity for our teachers,” said Ai Choo Ashe, Hampton City Schools teacher specialist for the visual and performing arts department. “They came away with valuable resources to share with their colleagues. Thank you to the Chrysler Museum for providing such a meaningful and inspiring workshop.”
