Bethel High students celebrate completion of Start on Success internship at Virginia Air & Space Science Center

Bethel High School students were celebrated during the Start on Success (SOS) Internship Completion Ceremony after successfully completing a five-month work-based learning experience at the Virginia Air & Space Science Center in Hampton.

Students honored included Mattea Broden, Andre Bryant, Jaylia Dixon, Elijah Gregory, and James Wright, under the guidance of their instructor, Miguel Incorminias of Bethel High School.

Throughout the internship, students worked several days each week, building essential workplace readiness skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, customer service, and problem-solving. While gaining hands-on experience, they supported museum exhibits, assisted with STEM activities, and contributed to community programs.

The ceremony highlighted student reflections on their experiences and recognized the mentors and community partners who helped make the program possible. Students were also presented with certificates honoring their accomplishments as they take the next steps toward becoming college, career, and life-ready graduates.

“The Start on Success program gives students the opportunity to gain real workplace experience, build confidence, and develop skills that prepare them for college, careers, and life,” said Incorminias. “Our students embraced this opportunity and demonstrated tremendous growth throughout their internship.”
