HCS Fifth Grade Honors Chorus shines

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, over 140 of our fifth grade students performed for a standing-room-only audience at Hampton High School. The musical theme was “The Elements,” and the studentsĀ sang “The Circle of Life,” “Fan the Flame,” “Flying,” “Sweet Water,” “Storm,” and “In This World Together.” There were also performances by the Future Focus Band from Machen Elementary School and the chorus from Phillips Elementary School. All the students received a standing ovation from their family, friends, and community members for their outstanding musical performance and powerful message.

The complete program, which includes school and student participants, can be foundĀ here.

Yasile Yarborough from Aberdeen Elementary School and Skyler Frasier from Machen Elementary School received a special award recognition for their display of musicianship, discipline, and character.

“Our honors music concerts have been occurring in Hampton City Schools for over 25 years. We are proud of the student musicians and their fantastic music teachers,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader.
