Students place in Hampton Woman’s Club art contest


The Hampton Woman’s Club recently recognized the winners of the 2024 Student Art Contest. Middle and high school students received recognitions for their works ranging from pencil drawings, paintings, digital media, fiber art, and sculptures.

High School

First Place: Layla Johnson (Kecoughtan High School, Teacher: Ms. Brooks)

Second Place: Alisha Winslow (Kecoughtan High School, Teacher: Ms. Brooks)

Third Place: Hannah Presgraves (Kecoughtan High School, Teacher: Ms. Brewer)

“Kudos to the exceptional and gifted art students for their achievements in the 2024 Woman's Club art contest. I am especially impressed by the diverse range of artwork submitted, the meticulous attention to detail, the adept use of color and media, and the distinctive perspectives showcased in this year's exhibition,” expressed Ai Choo Ashe, HCS teacher specialist for performing and visual arts. “A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the teachers for their invaluable guidance, unwavering support, and expertise in nurturing the students towards this commendable achievement.”


The Hampton Woman’s Club art contest is held annually to encourage and celebrate our young student artists in Hampton.
