Newport News/Hampton Area Missionary Council donates supplies for HCS students

Representatives of the Newport News/ Hampton Area Missionary Council delivered supplies for Hampton students on Friday, February 25. As she unloaded boxes of pencils, folders, water bottles, earbuds, and other gifts from the back of a vehicle, Council President Pat Johnson said to Deputy Superintendent Dr. John Caggiano, “This is only the beginning. Just tell us what your schools need.”

The missionary council represents 21 houses of faith in Hampton and Newport News, and they are committed to supporting our students and teachers in a variety of ways. In addition to providing school supplies, they look forward to the time when they can volunteer in schools, providing support in classrooms and at school activities.

Ann Bane, who received the supplies along with Caggiano is scheduled to speak at the Missionary Council's meeting on Saturday, March 12. She said, “I was just delighted to finally meet Minister Dee Johnson, with whom I had spoken by phone. She and her fellow council members could not have been more enthusiastic about supporting our students and teachers. I can't wait to explore the possibilities and watch this partnership grow!”
