Phoebus High School football team earns Class 3 state championship title
The Phoebus High School varsity football team, under the direction of head coach Jeremy Blunt, defeated Heritage High School (Lynchburg) to clinch the Class 3 state football championship on Saturday, December 10, 2022. The game was held at Liberty University and the final score was 48-7.
The Phantoms completed the season with a record of 15-0. This was their first unbeaten season since they had three straight from 2008 to 2010.
Phoebus has achieved back-to-back state titles as they also won the championship last year. This is their ninth state championship since 2001.
