Phillips Elementary School receives donations from multiple local businesses and community partners

Phillips Elementary School is fortunate to have many staff members, local businesses, and community partners who continue to provide items as well as their time to benefit families who may be in need.

The Hampton Walmart Neighborhood Market recently donated 15 boxes of school supplies. The donation was given by store manager Brian Orr, on behalf of Walmart.

Also, Fox Hill Road Baptist Church recently donated turkey boxes, school supplies, and furniture. Pastor Nathan Cecil and Associate Pastor Will Cornett of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church even helped deliver the donated items to families.

In addition, Rev. Donald McClean, Phillips art teacher Nancy McLean, and LaCrosse Memorial Presbyterian Church continue to donate supplies to families year round.

For the third consecutive year, the Shenk family (who currently live out-of-state) donated coats and supplies for students this past fall. They also donated funds to purchase mattresses for two families in need.

Brittany Jackson-Bates, instructional assistant, and her mother, Wanda Adams, a retired HCS family engagement specialist, donated furniture, household items, and toiletries. Adams also received additional donations from her friends group called The Morning Crew.

Stephanie Sutton, assistant principal, has spearheaded the donations to ensure they are delivered to families as needed. Dr. Thaddeus Sutton of Riverside Medical Group donated funds to rent a truck to deliver items to families.

The Hampton community is always so supportive of our schools, staff, and students. We are constantly amazed at how they value our schools and support education with their donations and time. We thank all of those who have shown their support.
