Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology gives back to the community

Students from the SCA and the Young Ladies and Gentlemen’s Club at Cooper Elementary Magnet School for Technology took their own time to give back to the community. These young ladies and gentlemen rang the bell for the Salvation Army on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Big Bethel Road Food Lion. They participated from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. that evening. School Counselor Maya Richardson serves as the sponsor for both of the school clubs.

“Cooper’s school community believes that helping others is always important,” said Richardson. “For many years we have served with the Salvation Army. We want our students to learn the importance of giving back and community service. During this season we will continue to do just that.”

The following students and their parents participated:
Jordan Rivera
Paris Hampton
La'Myah Bass
Jesscial Hall-McAdams
Xylae Valentine
Jadyn and Krisa Brown
Tania Jordan (and family)
Maya and Roman Richardson (Ms. Richardon’s son)

The SCA also took time to create holiday videos for the school staff and students. View one here.

These young people are a great example of the kind and generous students we have in Hampton City Schools.
