Hampton City Schools (HCS) primary method of student learning is full-time, in-person learning for all grade levels on a traditional bell schedule. Please note that if quarantine and/or isolation is deemed necessary, a student, class, classes or school may shift to virtual instruction for a time period determined by the school division.

Families who desired a virtual option were given the opportunity in the spring to apply through the division’s virtual learning application process for HCS FLEx (K-5) and Virtual Virginia (K-12).

School and/or community metrics dictate that all teaching and learning is provided in a virtual environment for all students as determined by CDC and VDH guidance.

  • All students will participate in virtual instruction that will be delivered by their roster teachers.

Those students (K-12) who were approved to participate in virtual learning prior to the start of the school year through the division’s virtual learning application process will continue to be served through their online programs.
