Congratulations to Theotis Porter who has been named the new basketball coach at Phoebus High School.

Porter has established a legacy of excellence in both high school and college basketball. From guiding King's Fork High School to its inaugural state championship in 2009 to securing another historic victory at Smithfield High School in 2021, his coaching career is illustrious. With an unblemished season record and numerous championship accolades, including VHSCA State Coach of the Year, Porter consistently showcases his talent for transforming teams into formidable contenders. His tenure at Virginia Peninsula Community College further enhances his reputation, culminating in the institution's inaugural New South Athletic Conference Championship in 2022. With a remarkable 100% graduation rate and a dedication to academic success, Coach Porter's influence transcends the basketball court, shaping not only athletes but also future leaders.

“Coach Porter brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven record of state championship success to Phoebus High School,” shared Phoebus executive principal David Coccoli. “His connections at the college level and his ability to develop athletes will have a lasting impact on the athletes at Phoebus High School. We are excited for him to lead our program and look forward to its future success.”
