Tia Revis of the human resources department, receives recognition from HAEOP

Natia (Tia) Revis, HR support specialist in the human resources department, was honored by the Hampton Association of Educational Office Professionals (HAEOP) on February 9, 2024. HAEOP co-president Falon Bone, HAEOP members, and the human resources staff surprised Revis at her office.

She was nominated by Sharmaine Alexander-Riggins who said the following, “Tia is one of the most dedicated HCS employees. She has worked a variety of different positions since she joined Hampton City Schools in 2006, and I understand that she was a prized employee in all of her roles. Tia always presents a most positive attitude to employees, employee candidates, and coworkers alike. She is happy to take on numerous tasks to assist her fellow employees, finding ways to make processes smoother and daily tasks less stressful for her coworkers. She is the first face that new employees encounter and she greets all with professional respect, friendliness, and a willingness to assist. I am not only excited, but proud to recommend Ms. Natia Revis for this award.”

The recognition was created by HAEOP in the 2022-2023 school year as a way to recognize employees. Any employee in the school division can nominate any office professional to be recognized and state why this person is deserving of the recognition. Nominations are reviewed each month and the winning recipient is chosen at random. Members of HAEOP then go to the winner’s school or office and surprise them with a small token of appreciation.
